About Us


"US" are Jim and Bonnie Schuecking. We are residents of Lilburn, Georgia, which is a suburb of Atlanta. We have lived many places over the past 40 years, but our roots are in Illinois. We have always been involved in some way with animals, so our attraction to Mastiffs was inevitable. We purchased our first Mastiff almost 8 years ago, and have since acquired four more (two of which we bred ourselves). We do not really consider ourselves to be breeders, since we only breed when we can keep a puppy. Our puppies are bred for qualities that are important to US. We are concerned with the health issues that face Mastiff owners, and our girls will not be bred if they do not pass, at a minimum, the OFA, CERF, and the new Optigen test for the PRA gene. Accordingly, they also will not be bred to a dog who has not been tested. If you want to know more about us, please send us mail at one of the addresses below.


This is Jim showing one of the many thoroughbred hunters he trained. Jim trained hunters, show jumpers, three-day event horses, and gave riding lessons for over 15 years. We lived in upstate New York for several years where he had the opportunity to work with Andrezj Orlos, captain & trainer of the Polish Olympic team, and Fritz Stecken, one of the most admired dressage trainers in the country. When Jim reached 40 years of age, we decided that he should probably pursue a more sedate occupation, and he reluctantly gave up the horses. This is our oldest daughter, Barbara, with her husband Rick. Barb graduated from Emory University School of Nursing this spring. She has passed her boards and is an official R.N. (real nurse). Rick is a professional musician (drummer) and can be heard and seen around the South. Barb and Rick have also presented us with our only grandchild, Christian James who also appears on these pages.
		This is our youngest daughter, Gretchen. Gretchen manages Colony Square, a large office/restaurant complex in Atlanta. She is owned by two Manchester terriers.
Meet our grandson, Christian James Austin. "CJ" is, of course, the most intelligent, beautiful, charming little boy you could ever hope to meet. We can't wait until he is old enough to start showing our dogs for us....he's already trying to boss them around! We've started a photo album for him here so we can watch him grow.
